| Dr. Chen's Ph.D in Information Science from Case Western Reserve University was completed in 1974 under the supervision of the late Prof. Philip M. Morse of MIT. Her thesis was on operations research with data from the Countway Library of Medicine of Harvard University. A modified version of this thesis entitled Applications of Operations Research Models to Libraries: A Case Study of the Use of Monographs in the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine, Harvard University was published as by MIT Press as her first of over 38 books. |
